Right lads I've priced a job for mp75 at the customers request. And I've been in talks with him for a couple weeks since.
Today he emailed me saying he had spoken to the knauf rep and she had mentioned an airless system of backing coat and finish. And asked if I had experience of which I replied I hadn't.
Now I'm just interested in what the system is and what it look like as I've only heard of the airless finish . Cheers

Stick to what you know mate.you know how to use mp75

I have heard of airless paint spraying. So what does airless mean?

How does airless work?

This system is best suited to mortar free celcon walls.

If it's normal block wall and they want a higher quality finish then mp75 use knauf universal plaster and then put airless on it

I will do Bud. I wouldn't even attempt anything I didn't know. I was just intrigued more than anything. I've priced to mp75 if the customer wants something different that's his prerogative. I wasn't sure what it was but now I know . We did 6 mnths in Maastricht a couple years ago and all there new build are done that way. Absolute piss poor system if u ask me

He is using that kind of block . Very thin joints . But like I said all the new builds were done like this in Holland and its an inferior finish to plaster. In my opinion

this might sound daft but never used any knauf plaster. Is MPFinish can be used for reskim as well same as multi? Seems a bit pricey to me compared to bg and where you get it? Tp jewsons or eh Smith ain't stocking it local to me, have to order a pallet a time. Or is it best to get it from knauf?

As Currier have suggested the Airless Backing plaster is more for thin joint block systems, where tolerance tend to be far less than on standard block wok walls, the term Airless is down t the delivery method, i.e. no compressor, just a high pressure piston pump. Having said that a Rito will also apply the product, but you don't need the water feed as the material is premixed in the bag. If you have any other questions please get in touch.

Mp finish is s**t on a reskim

Ive always been able to order through a plastering specialist supplier near me for years danny but a pallet at a time, so having the choice to pick up a few 25 kg bags from wickes would have been useful.
the wickes finish is MP finish anyway... its just wickes is now relaxing its policy on supplying other brands

5 kg and 10 kg bags in wickes near me. No 25kg and the 10kg was 7.99

Close but overall pointless

Doesn't like going on thick Mark, we always fill joints first then 2 tight coats can't go on it too early either as it tears, the thicker it is the more tears. Next to no grain in it what so ever.

I buy 90% of my plaster on account at 2 merchants but also use b&q and wickes when he merchants close at 5. Useful to get some bags at night to give a head start in the morning or load up with boards on saturday afternoon when the merchants are erm........ closed!

Makes it very limited then if they're ever going to take on BG. Whats it like on floated work?

Don't think they even gonna try tbh, they do more than enough in Europe, but who knows..

Never used it on any float & set... Don't how it would handle suction??

I haven't used it for a few years but recall it was useful on big ceilings or straight runs, if you had some sat in the bucket and had firmed up then just another whisk with the drill and it was creamy again.

They push airless instead as it's a better process and finish

Plus there is talk of the European union phasing out gypsum on building site in the future

i use to use wickes and b&q all the time the merchants could not compete with prices or opening times
