The Lake Governor
That's how I feel tonight after doing my first screeding for three years. Only did the one room mind, unfortunately it was 66m2.

You old light weight.... Always keep your hand in. Thats what I say to my lads ( no porno jokes please) .

I enjoy the screeding more than the spreading though, mind you 66m2 , after none for 3 years aint to bad.

So well done you. I hopes it flat.

still a good feeling knowing you can still do it when needs must, good on you fella.

Lol..... makes you appreciate what screeders put down in a day i used to help out labouring on an old boy hed murder 25-30 tonne and in the van at 2

Well although I had a ******* stiff back this morning I managed to survive the rest of the screed today.
Back when I was younger Dave I used to do up to 86m2 a day and that was labouring on myself.
I wonder why I have a bad back?

I remember labouring (on the pump) with this old Paddy (Mick Keane/Kane ? ) in the 80's. He would lay a couple of hundred m2 a day and think nothing of it, giant of a man. He used to pay me 100 quid cash a day, not bad them days for a labourer. I struggle with 10m2 meself nowadays :RpS_blushing:

It's one of the best jobs to do as a plasterer, however these days I might not do a big floor for twelve months and then you've got to wack down 120m², it fucks me up but I like It.

Popped my cherry today on liquid screed, 110m² in 1 Hour 10 Minutes with a PFT ZP3v, If we knew then what we know now, 45mins.

That sounds great, how much does a machine like that cost and does it still work out a good earner compared with traditional screeding?

its a lot better earning wise than traditonal screed,if your geared up, and you aint on your knees or shagging your back all day.

So is it viable to get set up to just do these flowing screeds on these nice big one off houses I'm targeting at the moment?
Or is it only worth doing if you're planning on taking more and more of these screeds without doing the spreading as well?

The material is expensive but it's easy to put down, it was an eye opener, this is of course if the finished product is acceptable to clients. When it's dried out, time will tell.

Not really quick at first, but as moisture dissipates into ambient air it accelerates dramatically..... I hope. We are still waiting to see the dried and finished product and I will post on the outcome.

we dont touch plastering anymore, like any aspect of the game you target what is most profitable, and with the boom in underfloor heating theres a market there. some firms its all they do flo screed. ours is about 90% rendering 10% screed, its just the continuety of work you require and plus i dont travel away any more.
