I prob didn't explain very well,I have various small builders and clients that can keep us going for a while,and if slows up can dive on site...also hopefully in between a ongoing mod contract...not bullshitting,just didn't explain very well,also domestic ..I say domestic as it ain't 300 +houses,but new builds on a smaller scale..
Like I said,they want a m2 price etc.,
Is this the norm,as I was talking to another company and said I was miles out with my valuation??,but qs ing everything could be expensive..
Granted didn't explain very well,but I look forward to the vids and remarks,good laugh

I've never been asked to quote by the metre for small builders but everyone's different I suppose, lot of different factors involved like how much you can do in a day, have you got a labourer, how much you need to earn to make a profit? Only you know these things
 
Thought you said you'd worked 20 yrs on site? Surley someone must have given you a price on variousvaspects and you agreed to work for this or vice versa?

Tbh pal I think this thread along with quite a lot on here from people that are supposed to be in the game and have experience but don't know the first thing about prices is a load of tosh...

Here's what I think...you along with some of the other recent threads are just people starting out from courses and a are attempting to use this site ad a reference to collate pricing info but all seem to make a long winded bullshit story up...

We even had allegedly a wife of a plasterer asking on behalf of her husband the other day..

Anybody thats worked on any building site of any sort knows the prices be it a subby price or main contractor end ov...

Someone else said they were relocating from another area its just bollox after bollox after bollox

When people are straight they get a straight answer ... The bullshits transparent I'm afraid

if my builders did it on meterage, it wouldn't be worth me doing it, if somebody just wants a little bathroom ceiling skimmed it's my day rate regardless of what time I finish

I See you are new member ..I only joined a few years ago so still consider myself new I was the same at first when peeps respond ,it's quite easy to take the hump but zombie was trying to help IMO ...just relax a bit ...and be honest ..it's so easy to see when people aren't honest ..I am not having a go just trying to help a bit .

See I know a few spreads off here,who I've known over the years machine and manual,I ain't got to lie,it is what it is,I'm not up on the rates,simple as that..I know the rates I get paid etc..
Just not up on what goes on top and what you should be expecting??
The works there,I've always been s day work/price worker..when your on the tools you don't really get into the mechanics side of it,just get your head down and crack on...I asked a question on how things should be arranged and prices etc,people can pick holes..
Not bothered,I've thick skin,but what I have noticed over the being on here.a lot of digging and sniping..I'm not a new member just ain't posted ;)

Just charge what you want to earn then ...I only been plastering 15 years on my own which is 5 years less than you have but I could give a near enough price for a job off a photo picture tbh.

When I was a 19yr old hod carrier/labourer I asked an old bricky how to price a job up.

Price of materials- double it.

How long will it take + what you want to earn-double it.

Add a tenner on for luck.

I never had balls to do it like that but he drove a merc and I've always driven old bangers.

Be nice.

We going for a m2 rate or a price or day work it's so confusing,me I go job work out materials add a bit on then think hmm gonna take me X amount of days and this is what it's gonna cost think that's what most people do don't they
 
we only hand out fixed prices for the required areas, they can like it or lump it,
if you get 100% of the work you quote then you are to cheap, about half and you know that you are there abouts.
