I Section Advice

Hi all,

I haven't yet used one myself as I've been managing fine without one, however I've recently been hearing how good the I sections are for mono jobs etc. I was wondering what people's views on them are? What are the benefits of using one? And mainly, when exactly is the best time to use it?

Best time to use one is when render has dried ready for scratching.

Before using the scratcher, use the bar to take any obvious high points down, I go across the wall vertically and horizontally, very handy for going bead to bead. I wouldn't do a job without one.

I also use the spatula to scratch reveals up, very easy to get the straight by cutting the top 1/2mm off the top.

I use a saw blade cut in half for revels works a treat.

Just use a render plane, for reveals that's what there made for.

Find them a bit too thick a lot of the time, catch on window and you can't get at that last 15mm
