Hardwall

Happy Friday all anyone have any ideas for anything like a joddy for hardwall? I don’t like the idea of a machine I’ve heard they eat the r/s and you have to spray it very wet so don’t want to skim the next day and I’m not sure how a continual mixer would work with hardwall if it would flash set or no ? Any cheap escort numbers plus constructive replies would be appreciated thanks x

It would definitely flash set after several mixes if it wasn’t cleaned out imo, hardwall is ok to set next day if you give it a fine spray of water, in fact it hangs ( obviously i don’t know the logistics of your job)

Simply the best had a thread about how to float large areas of hardwall with cleaning out the pump to often.

Gentlemen, for some reason beyond my comprehension mixing hardwall through a continuous mixer or mixerpump ( lotus XS or ritmo) means it don't set quick enough on the wall in order to skim it same day and move on the next, it always sets in the mixing chamber which causes issues, have tried both, but the next way I would try is a forced action mixer because it is batch mixing and therefore helps the set time to be controlled. Got a massive Georgian mansion (new build) to float and set first quarter next year for one of the Chipping Norton set, might try it there. good to have yo back Spunky, Baron 120/200 mixer perhaps.

I sprayed it once had no problem mate but would say nowadays you’d be better with a one coat plaster instead, bg have demo video of the hard wall sprayed they apply gyprime then skimmed , I remember Mike Attis had a good video too spraying a place with his ritmo a while back

Aint got a problem spraying it Vincey, bit messy but on large areas it's fine, it just don't set quick enough. One coat stuff isn't tough enough imo.

Thanks for the replies all btw, I’ve looked into forced mixers the jobs a little way away so deffo an option lot of money though the only reason I want a mixer is to help my mate get on the trowel more lol thanks for the help
