Dot+dab on thermalites

Hi all. Just wondering if thermalites (quinnlite blocks) should be primed or sealed before gypsum plasterboard adhesive compound is applied for dot+dab purposes?

Pva mix at exactly 7 parts Pva to 13 parts water, then grit over the top.
Or ring a plasterer and get them to do it

No need for pva or primer or G** colours of grit or sbr , make sure it’s clear of dust and dirt , a light sprinkle of water will suffice

No water required, just straight on them.

The suction creates a chemical bond, the adhesive is designed for this to occur. Dusty old red bricks would be different, but not lovely new aircrete blocks.

Ive always gone on dry with thermalites when dabbing, I've only sprayed water on them when floating

That isn't a key at all, it's where the blocks are cut/separated.

I have a Winget 150T. A whole bag of dust, twenty shovels of sand and still plenty of room for it to move nicely.
