Damp in celling

Hi,

We have noticed damp occurring in our 2 adjoining bedrooms upstairs on the same side of the wall.
We noticed it back in September 2019 when we brought the house, but decided to leave it to see if it would disappear.
Since the heavy rain appeared over the last couple of weeks, you can see from the images that the damp has come back. We got the cellings plastered last year but you can see that the plaster is coming from the ceilings and has moved in the corner. Doesn’t look stable to me. There is zero windows on this side of the external wall where the damp is occurring.
I have been in the loft but struggling to see anything.

Wanted to ask what you would advise? To help get this situation fixed. and if you have occurred this type of issue before? wasn’t sure if it would be some tiles loose, bricks leaking in water or pipes but I don’t think any pipes run above the cellings in those areas.
I have contacted a couple of damp specialists and some roofers in the area.

Any assistance would be greaty appreciated thanks.

Regards
Matt

You want to rule out condensation first which I would remove the wall paper and see how it looks...

You really need to get in the loft and see if you can get to that corner of the room... if teh ceiling is dry above then you can guarantee it is condensation... if it is wet above then it will be the roof

Deffo like Danny said get in the loft and have a gander see if it isn't a leak anywhere on any pipe work or if it's condensation look at getting roof vents installed

Condensation appears on external walls at the ceiling line.

You got a leak.

It's not rocket science. Get up there and look. If it's not a pipe (which rain won't affect) then it's the roof so you'll see wet insulation.

I have actually got the same issue in 1 room in my new place... edge of ceiling top of wall and it is condensation...

Its on the main corner that does not get any sun at all at any time of the day summer or winter... I have put a heater in that corner now and it is perfect

Maybe someone's blocked airflow from eaves with insulation

Causes loft to heat up and condensate on felt and run down to make contact with fluffy and soak through to ceiling

I had the same problem roofer put vents in on both sides of the roof and stopped the condesation
