the damp "specialist" arrived yesterday at this job. charged nearly seven hundred in the end and was there for less than two hours. go's back today to spray. i was elsewhere. there were a few extra metres. but this was where there'd been a slow leak from the bathroom above:rolleyes) he felt it was best to be on the safe side to inject along that wall as well:RpS_thumbup:

should have got all the gear for this at christmas. you're having a fookin laugh. money for nothing. and his special "additive" that i "must use" is jewsons waterproofer. fcuk me.

We are in the wrong game my friend ??

it certainly is, arti :RpS_thumbup: i was going to try out the sovereign or kingfisher for a change but he wouldn't have it. like his guarantee is worth a wank, anyway. surprised he didn't turn up on horse. people get blinded by science, or voodoo. the landlord didn't flinch with the price. i had someone else down there yesterday but when i him at the end of the week i'm going ask the landlord why the feck he injected the wall where the leak was from the bathroom above

I had an erm.......................lets call it a debate today with a customer about damp proofing. She wanted another opinion after a builder had told here the best way to stop damp coming through her wall was to use a membrane on the wall ( he had left her a sample of the membrane). This was from the builder who had injected her walls 2 years ago and it had failed. Anyway after explaining the membrane he wanted to use was used in basements with a base drain system and if you didnt use a drain the water would just run down the back of the membrane onto the floor. i tried to tell her it would be better to find the reason for the damp problems rather than just hiding it and paying top dollar for a system that isnt needed.

Thought i had convinced her that the builder didint have a scooby doo, until she rang me an hour ago and told me the builder now wants to inject the walls AGAIN and fit the membrane and she was happy with his solution......................:RpS_confused:..........................:RpS_laugh: "no bother love you crack on"..........................:rolleyes)

daft fookers. you're right, arti. that damp job i'm on about had a membrane in the wash house bit. it was flapping all over the place. when i ripped it off the wall was sodden. my mate pete who was with me looked at it and said, "that's that fookin membrane sh1te. all that does is fookin hide it" that's about it. some people. that builder must be laughing his cock off all the way to the bank.

fu@kin 2 right the builder is laughing he's gonna get paid twice for 2 shite jobs........................:rolleyes)

Sounds very roguey that mate. Is the damp coming through the wall or up it? Is it internal/external?

it was coming over the top of the original dampproofing on a party wall

Ahh right ive seen this before its coming through the weakest part of render.now above damp work. Sounds like the injection has possibly failed and the damp is still creeping up the wall behind the waterproof render that im assuming the builder used when he did his injection. I'd probably put new injection in with dry zone cream. anti sulphate it all and use kingfisher tanking system. Floor to ceiling. Cover all bases!

Already explained what you've just said to the customer marra.................all we can do is advise
