cordless mixer...again

im trying to make my life that little bit easier on domestic jobs and am thinking of a cordless mixing drill ........do any of you use cordless? .......i'd imagine i'd have to go 24v min for the power but not sure how far a battery will last with mixes ???

can you use rotary drills for mixing or will they only work on hammer?

id use a stick and spend your 190 quid on beer ;D
 
not bad ,was holding it most of the afternoon cant bring myself to go in them chemical lavs :eek:

I bought a Freud 240v mixer off ebay for my small domestic work, got it for £40 brand new - retail at over £100, I was looking for a decent hammer drill for the job after my last one gave up with a whiff of burning!!! and stumbled onto this freud, does the job, got standard 13mm chuck for a small whisk and remove the chuck it takes the the standard threaded big whisk great for domestic and patching.
 
freud is good gear mate, bit of an unsung hero.. ive got a router, plenty man enuff..
 
I've got an old 18v Dewalt Cordless drill which I use to knock up a mix if I can't be bothered getting the whisk out of the van. I normally only use it if I've only got a small mix to do, say between 1/2 to 1 bag. It will do a bigger mix but obviously it takes a bit longer than the whisk.

The batteries are 2.4ah NiCD, and I'd say it'll do 5 or 6 mixes before it wants recharging.

Mine was 80 quid second hand of Fleabay, with charger and 2 batteries. It's great for domestic work, one battery is easy enough to fix up all the boards when overboarding a ceiling, and then mix up first and second coats - all with the same drill

.i actually use my megamixer to put screws in and to bore holes...works a treat
 
I used to use a 24volt cordless mixer. i used it for years with no real probs get 4-5 mixes a day from it before a rercharge.
but with these new modern batterys (li-on) prob x3 that amount maybe more.
Theres nothing wrong with the crank (paddle)method.Doesnt save that much time or effort compared to electric mixer really if your on a budget!!
ill still crank it up every now and then just to see i aint lost the touch.
