Hi to everyone on this forum,

I recently had a 23.5 sqm bathroom resurfaced in microcement by a plasterer who specialised in Mortex etc.
It wasn't an easy job as he did it over existing wall-floor tiles and even over the shower tray. It took him nearly 4 weeks and the results are ok, not great.

My question is what do others on the forum think of the job he did - and now that he's gone and it's all been sealed, is there anything that can be done to get a better finish?

I had expected neater edges, less streaks, tidier corners etc. We repeatedly pointed out flaws and he patched them up - but there's a point where you realise that the person probably just cannot do better.

I'd welcome constructive advice from anyone.

Hi jen,
Don't like to run people down but that's shocking.Dont know what he was doing for 4 weeks but seems a chancer me.I don't go in side trays as I recommend shallow trays and coat over to form a wetroom as it's a better finish.

It will need Sanding,re priming and applied again.Do you know what brand he's used?

Sorry but you can’t be picking fault in this scenario, you as the project manager of your own house work decided to get it plastered with all the utilities fitted , to me that means you will never get an excellent job ,plastering needs a clear room with a clear wall and ceiling area to achieve good results

You've been caspered

Job still could of been a better finish mate.Theres not one bit that's decent, even in middle of wall.

This is really my point. I get that the shower tray was a gamble, but there is a lot of surface that was flat, and corners that were accessible. It's hard to look at this and feel like this is a job done well.

It's likewise hard to face up to having to undergo yet more sanding and priming and re-applying, after enduring it for 4 weeks. And it feels like it will be nigh impossible to get someone in to re-do it. It was hard enough to get anyone in the first place.

Is there anyone on here who might be able to willing to take this on? You likely won't be surprised to hear I'm London-based.

Spare me the heckling and lecturing. I'm simply trying to find a way to get this resolved.

Thanks especially to @plas1.

Imagine spending 4 weeks in a little bathroom. How's that even possible. Assuming he was on at least 200 a day you paid over 4k for that?
