got a window to take out an patch up with brick daft question what's the best method for keeping the stringline in place to follow the courses can't get corner blocks on not possible

Hope there not cemented in,the lime ones are much easier,

There are a few ways to do it, but I prefer to put three or four horizontal cuts into the half bricks coming out with a four inch grinder. A couple of sharp smacks with a small lump hammer if you're accurate/brave, or use a bolster if you're not. It seems much easier cutting the brick than cement mortar first, then chip the mortar out and you have nice clean crisp edges and corners on the original bricks.

Obviously if you don't have matching bricks to insert, or it's getting rendered then there's no need. If it's facing brick and on show then it's worth the effort.

dont hit the bricks to hard like i did
