Bit of a strange one this - got a job to insulate, board and skim 200mm (yes that's right, two lots of it) Kingspan.

It's a reception area with 2 external walls that need doing. Been in touch with Kingspan, and they reckon you need a 25mm cavity. So we're looking at building a timber frame, which includes a window. The timber frame will sit on some 2 by 1's, so there's a cavity that the insulation can sit on. We're gonna seal the gaps between the kingspan and the timber frame with some aluminum tape. We're using Kooltherm K12.

Any advice or tips on any of this, including building the timber frame? Or is there an easier way of doing this?

cheers - got any guides on how to use it - never used metal stud before. I'm working with a chippie

It's a piece of piss, just like meccano.look in the white book for metal stud and it's all in there.if you've got any questions after reading it just ask.use speedline rather than BG as it's loads cheaper.

Fix your 100mm in between the studs then 25mm batten over the top giving you your air gap then 100mm over the top or 150mm in between the studs then batten and over the top with 50mm.
