How many of you scrim your internal joints aswell as ceiling line when doing float and set?

Hi, What bead depth are people using for basecoat thickness onto block/brick to receive silicone texture finish? 10mm or 15mm. Reason I ask is because do not want to go down the route of grinning blockwork/brick. Thanks
