How many of you scrim your internal joints aswell as ceiling line when doing float and set?

Ceiling yes internals no unless butting up to a studwall etc

3. Cut back ceiling/wall angle
Next day...
4. Scrim ceiling/wall joint
5. Whilst walls dry, set the ceiling
6. Set walls
7. Get paid £££££££££££££££££

we done a float and set job on a USA airbase, using USA spec. we had to jute scrim over all electric conduits.

Will be float and setting majority of walls in my new house. Quite a few clinker block walls, so will be meshing them.

When i was starting to learn (86) and we would float and set, all the boarding was done first then skimmed tying all the board work to the block work using jute scrim then floated and skimmed .

I've never scrimmed any board to floating internal, be it wall or ceiling. I will scrim a flat joint between board and floating though.

I did say "I may be slow, but I'm rough". I wasn't kidding.
But in all seriousness I've never had any issues not doing them.

Sorry but that is wrong now that using fibre tape.

All mesh be it mono,silicone,scim is most effective to prevent cracking when used nearest surface as possible.

Will shiw you this on all manufacturer spec sheets.

My dad did too , could never understand it.

The issue I have is float doesn't bond to background through scrim as well
