have been reading this thread and found the golden trowel sponge float method.what the guy actually says is that it is one method of balancing and blending in the first coat.but not the prefered method.if you actually watch it you will see that he is not wetting the sponge float so is not...

everybody checks out the forum before joining.myself included and gets the gist of questions asked and answered.somebody who has been commisioned to do this type of work trust me on this, would not need to ask such a question and would have already done assesment of works been commisioned and...

,pete if working on grade 2 listed you will be unable to use gypsum,or some do to their bitter cost.finish can be just as good depends who applies it and grades of sand used.all our materials come from m8 of old mans.mike wye.great guy.you would probley be better with pre mixed if no exp of lime...
must admit, didnt no what a golden trowel course was till reading past topics over week end.i think you would be better asking lads on here or local to your area in the trade to take you free of charge for six weeks,to actually see whats involved starting from the labouring for a week then moving...
weatherby just the trade name .no diff than k rend Weber sot.etc polymer render systems .would be checking work of whomever you sub out to as will come back on you, reputation and financially.
one this job pug,all accomodation provided in empty farm house so no probs there.price wise you would find it very difficult to make it worth while against local labour because of accomodation cost.we are into our 2nd week of 3.got another 2 weeks for finish coat in prob mid july.all materials...
yes plenty of work and ex pats. ours is lime work over two 17century farm houses.british owned.could be worse pug.used to be mixed with cow s**t sand /lime.cannot see my boys out collecting cow s**t for mix.
mr church is absolutley correct.put the owness on the builder, offer your concerns.and make sure your company are not responsible for any remedial work if needed,as he has gone against your advice as the plastering contractor.
same as above 11-13.waste of time anything bigger for training purposes.see plenty of people using large trowels 16-18 but actually using less than half the trowel.biggers not nessesary better.well in this instance.
exactly.first attempt think you may have been better dubbing out scratch coat.then whilst waiting set yourself some dots lined them in then screeds, would have made it easier and more accurate work. once used to doing it do away with screeds.you can sometimes have problems doing the way that you...
I must be reading this wrong .a plasterer that has no experience of rendering. floating.using levels.and needs talking through 3 coat work.but manages to make a living self employed.how did you become a plasterer.
Re: (another french word invented by a german)er
i think most on here have probably tired of you messing around and contradicting yourself time and time again.if you are a genuine guy just stop messing around, all enjoy some fun but sometimes it wears thin.its still new to me as the only forum i...
i would only use them if not possible to get stainless, they are an excellent bead but require little more care when setting up as of the flexibility.very good used with coloured render systems.
just checking out that silly video noticed the little umpa lumpa guy doing it has elbow support on any body notice.then noticed that in the post big trowels guy says he has knackered elbows.same guy i thought was joking around claimed to start masterplastering.check out pippsy 333 youtube and...
18inch trowel very good for flattening large areas quickley.but as for laying on very cumbersome and most i have witnessed using them actually have no more material on the trowel than say a 14inch.better to stay with a trowel size you are used to.we use tyzack trowels that my farther managed to...
mr richard,i was not intending to doubt your advise, just point out that the need for pva is not essential or gypprime witch is a very expensive product.a good damp down will suffice.in the case of aereated block then as said an additional agent may be requierd.but not essential.i was trying to...
mr 333 is quiet correct in saying that their is no need to be using pva when using thistle hardwall.it is a medium to high suction backing plaster.thuse eleveating the need to erase suction by sealing with pva.the area should be damped down to mearly get rid of any dust, and applied as per...
that guy in the video looks like one of the umpa lumpas.short stubby forearms bet he walks with his little arms waddling like a midget.the little fella looked like he enjoyed it.wouldnt mind one of them to put in the suitcase when working away.bring it out give it a kicking after a hard day.then...
no he doesnt use labourers.he has just finished some work at liverpool cathedral,no the lead wasnt stolen.i currently pay our labourer £9 pounds per hour.12 if we reqiure him to work outside the uk.but we pay his accomodation and meals.
