I never joke about saving money.
I like life on the edge and was going to make a new parex gf/m g0.5.
I'll do the first pass in the parex and then the second in the weber i won't tell u where I'm working don't want to get life in prison for cross mixing render.
Hi, Ive got some monorex gf g10 left over about 20 bags but need more but not another 40 (pallet).
I'm thinking of getting some webet pral m chalk and mixing then together equally has anyone tried this and does it come out okay?
Thanks.
Is the ocr okay on eps with though mate?
Changing the subject, i'm hacking off an outside and the w#$ ker has done the dashing in one coat using river wash and about 2 sand 1 cement.
I'm smashing the bricks to bits.
Anyone got any non sarcastic tips for getting it off please.
Thanks for all the response.
I was thinking of getting weber ocr and sil.p.
Is that not suitable then.
I've not heard of a lot of these companies and wouldn't know where to get them.
I know parex is supplied by encon which is not to far.
I have a minsters and sig quite close too.
Hi.
Can anyone recommend a good silicone render system(inc base coat, primers etc) for hand application.
The system that i'd like you to recommend has to go over some of the area in extruded polystyrene for insulation.
Cheers.
You'll be alright mate.
Just make sure you've got everything you need to complete the job ready before you start.
And have three shredded wheat for your breaky.
How about forming a shadow gap.
You can over board the ceiling leave say a 12mm gap up to the coving all the way round the room and finish the board edge that meets the coving with a board end stop bead.
Tbh Andy is the first time I've used parex.
I'd heard of Blanc du littoral but didn't know the grit size.
She wasn't happy with the grit size of pral.m.
So I was advised on the gf for a finer grit size.
Is the blanc du littoral avaliable as a fine grit? Or is it medium?
Roughly work out how many square metre's you/team can do a day. Divide that by how many metres there are on his project.
And if it would take you a lot longer than his expected four weeks, then give him a price not dayrate.
Tbh Flynnman im not to sure if normal masonry paint will do.
Just downloaded the parex colour chart and it does look a similar colour.
They chose that colour so tuff tatties.
:D
They did choose that colour. But in fairness is nothing like the colour on there colour facade simulator.
I'm not sure if you can paint the parex.
I know weber do a system for painting their pral.m but it's mega money about £100 per litre if my memory serves me right.
But who would be...
Alright Madmonk.
Used painter last week thanks to Andy.M's advice.
5mm is the maximum thickness and at that thickness your meant to use alkaline mesh in the first pass 2/3mm.
You could go to the Parex site and download the tech spec on parinter if that helps mate.
It's good stuff. I know that.
Firstly thanks guys.
Oh bummer.
The weber pral.m chalk that I've done before has always come out alright.
I would of used that. But she said it was reminiscent of pebbledash.
Lol.
So Andy.M kindly pointed me in the direction of the monorex gf.
I don't suppose Parex will do jack about.
:(
Evening all.
I wonder if anyone can can give me a little advice.
Did a parex monorex gf in g10 colour white light I think the colours called.
I applied the gf and left it overnight then scraped it the next day within their specified time.
It's been a week today since it was scraped and...
Hi all.
Can anyone help. Seen a lot about knauf airless plaster.
Can a pft ritmo L spray it effectively!?
Or would a dedicated sprayer be better say a Graco etc?
Thanks in advance for response.
I have seen it done on the interweb.
But I'm affraid not sure how and I can't remeber what site.
Lucidato comes in loads of different colours, but that's mainly slaked lime not gypsum.
Maybe have a look into the lucidato.
You can go on a course and learn how to do it by a few companies now...
Sorry to be a pain. You'll have to forgive me never done these systems.
So parinther over the cleaned painted brickwork. Then paint the parinther with the micro 3000 to control the suction?
I can find the coverage etc just wondered what to expect to pay for a bag of the parinther.
Thankyou...
Put a scaffold board across the sofa. You can save on hop ups.
And you can wash your clothes on site. Save upsetting you're missus.
Shame they're not having a tumble dryer delivered.
You could dry your clothes to mate.
Good luck.
Holy shite.
Power prep disc's are £10+vat a pop.
And apparently they're only good for about 1 m2.
That would cost me about £480 just on disc's.
Hopefully a wash down of the painted brickwork and a coat of the micro gobetis 3000 will do.
I lose my reputation and a whole lot of money if 50m2 worth of mono doesnt take to the wall properly and falls off.
Also have you done much mono by hand?
Its ******* stuff.
Hence the lotus xs.
Thanks for the constructive comments though bud.
That's not to bad then.
Do you know much about the pft lotus xs?
Was wondering if you think they're any good.
I know they'll only knock the stuff up.
But they're alot cheaper than a ritmo l.
And thought that might be a good stepping stone to machine work.
I does like a nice poem Essex Andy. Lol
Cheers AndyM.I'll give it a go.Bet I get my pants pulled down on the cost of it though.
Trying not to make this look like a poem.
Cheers Andy.
Does that primer penetrate in to the bricks.
Or does it leave a skin on the surface.
Because we'd be at square one again if it left a skin wouldn't we?
Thanks for your help.
I personally didnt get on with it.
I would stick to Marshaltown personally.
Although I like the refina plastic skimming trowels.
Apart from the fact they're easy to get a nick in the edge.
Nice one Ay.
That's what I was thinking.
Eliminates the doubt.
Once I've done that, I don't have to piss about with any other primers do I mate?
I spoke to the parex rep after you advised it.
I thought I was going to order monorex gf fine.
Then he started going on about mono blanco and blanc...
I bought a thistle trowel.
Thinking well these guys make the finish plaster most of all use.
So they're trowels must be good.
That said they also made uni finish.
Cheers for the info.
Much appreciated.
I'd be lost without this forum.
Did you do any of the 7 parex specifications for wall suitability?
Thanks for your time.
Afternoon all.
Got to do a monorex pf job.
Was going to use rendagrip.
But was also told about parex parinther.
Can anyone help me out with some advice.
Thanks.
I agree.
I think is a nice finish.
Glad I got Mark @Weber to send some samples first.
I'm not familiar with monorex gf.
Is that a scrape finish too?
I've got a sheffield insulation and a minsters near me.
Will they stock it or is it a order online job?
Thanks Andy.
Heard cp euromix do one too.
Yes Keith ive done it before.
Need a ritmo l though is bloody hard work by hand.
But thats plastering for you.
Evening.
Was wondering if any one could help me out.
I have to do a through colour rendering job.
Was going to use Weber pral.m (chalk).
But the customer isn't happy with the grain size.
Says the sample looks like pebble dash.
Does anyone know of a through coloured hand applied render...
