I know several roofers in brighton, now charging for estimate, they're fed up with time wasters and knock it of the price if they get it

    Walls to poolside area.

bit of guidance needed, I've been asked to plaster thermalite block to the walls of a swimming pool room( not the actual pool). Is there a special plaster used in this instance because of all the chemicals used in the pool.

Hair line crack on old plasterboard

all comments noted, underfloor heating in polished concrete was on, 3mt high glass panels at end with sun streaming in not good. Never think of paper tape, would seem like going back to the eighties bedding bandage scrim on joints first. Did a month in Brixton about 1986 and all they used was...

Hair line crack on old plasterboard

Thoughts needed! Just plastered a 36mtr plasterboard wall(studwork). Boarded 8 months ago so scrimmed joints, sealed with plasprime, let it dry, plastered next day. Went on lovely, no problems, a week later every joint had the finest hairline crack, why? Customer not bothered as fitted bookcase...

    Blue grit or bond it

Don't know the technical side to it all, but the green is so much better to use. Easier to apply for a start and when setting it goes on softer, blue grit can seem a bit hard and scratchy. Green all day

And so... is this the end...?!

Had to have 8 months off when my kneecap split in two. Feared the worst but the body heals well, it will all be down to the physio, do what they say when they say ,not a thing more. They know what their doing. Cant screed floors now, too long on the knees but didn't like them anyway. Good luck

    Board finish as an alternative

3months ago when multi was really tight, bg phoned up a branch of jewsons in sussex and asked if they wanted a lorry of board finish. Young counter/office lad said no as he'd never heard of it and there was to much plaster going round that people had not heard of or knew how to use! Manager...

What's your favourite hop-up, and why? (looking to buy a new one)

Always used a Newcastle brown ale crate, just kicked it around, till one day I stood right on the edge and it twisted and flipped me off. Dislocated kneecap, detached tendons and 6 months off work. Thrown that now! Stanley hop up does me now

    Youngsters and water?

Had a hand recently with a large ceiling from a youngster. All was good and everything seemed normal, then the water came out, brush and spray. Honestly I've never seen so much water used, I know I'm the other way with minimal water but this was ridiculous. Is this the norm now with the young guns?
