The difference lime makes is unbelievable, I wouldn’t want to topcoat without it, plus you have the flexibility properties the lime brings for a topcoat. Think it’s best to leave it.

Find your local plasterer, ask for a job and learn the game inside out, don't go making mistakes and charging people for it.

Two coats, same day, with good amount of waterproofer, devil up, 2-5 days to let it shrink and cure, then skim. Skimming over internal rendering is a dream.

You sound like me, it's a hard,hard game and cannot be learnt in 5 minutes, it takes years of mistakes and trial and error to know where you stand. You've got to love it, a bad day for a plasterer would destroy the soul of the average man, things can get shitty quickly.
