Fella was telling me yesterday that plastic floats are fantastic in speeding up skimming process. Basically, he reckoned that you could float over skim (before it had gone off), thus saving wetting down and trowelling?
Also, anyone got a hand held scrim applier? I've never seen them..
Cheers

Fellas,
Have heard a few horror stories about painting (emulsion) over Knauf finishing plaster - paint not bonding and peeling away etc...
Surely, if u mist coat (50/50 water) you'll be ok?
What u reckon?

After spending hours skimming rooms, and having talked about every subject under the sun, link up ur ipod to speakers and go through the classics.
Yes, I'm a sad tw*t! ;)
Anyway, after much research, it has to be 'Waterfall' by the Stone Roses.
I just use Knauf Finish Plaster these days, as I find it workable and slower going off. I know its more expensive than MF but I've never had a dodgy mix, and 1 bag of Knauf = 2 MF.

Fellas,
I've got a 10m2 kitchen wall that has had its units ripped out and the tiling hacked off. Its a pretty uneven surface, but the client wants it flawless.
A guy told me that he would first lay a BG Bonding coat, then 2 coats of multifinish. Is this a good idea?, or should i just scrape...
Fellas,
Just boarded out a room with foil-backed insulation board. Only prob is that the interior
window reveals are not secure enough for a skim.
My pal screwed them in no prob with rawl plugs at the top and bottom, but the Victorian lime plastered reveal just crumbled when drilling into the...
Fellas, after reading that post about a young guy debating to become a plasterer or go to uni, I was wondering how many of u set out to go into the trade, or did u just find yourself there one day?!
