Fella was telling me yesterday that plastic floats are fantastic in speeding up skimming process. Basically, he reckoned that you could float over skim (before it had gone off), thus saving wetting down and trowelling?

Also, anyone got a hand held scrim applier? I've never seen them..

I just stick to what I no I'm happy with my finish and the time it takes and I bought one of those guns and all ill say is you can have it if you want

Think you have been had here first of all you skim over floating not the other way around and the only way you can speed up is in the application.. if you skim over wet backing coats you will be fu**ed.
