    Insulation boards

what you could do is if your b and q has 12mm 2400x1200, plaster boards and polystyrene insulation sheets then glue the poly on to the boards. i never done this but i have skimmed a house out where the builder did this to save money and to this day it worked, well i've never been asked to go...

Dot and dab over very uneven stone walls

if theres enough room for a free standing stud frame of 2x2 timber you could also insulate it and plaster board over the top and keep the stone work incase whom ever owns the property some years later to look after as should you knock off the face of the stone work off its hard to put back. Or...

    got one of those calls

if they told you to render down passed the damp course and to the floor then its their fault and should have known better. If you asked them about this then its still their fault give them a estimate for putting the work right. What i do is bead one brick above the damp course and also bead one...

    mixing s&c by hand

I use an old ready mix compo tub off a building site i worked on years ago, you can stab it with your shovel and it will not go through, you can wack it with a length of 4x2 it will not split, had it years and never let me down. (yet)

    Skip hire

i found a place near to me that for clean hard core i can tip up to 5 ton for a fiver, so thats what i do and still charge the client for skip hire. The bad thing is that at the moment my trucks off the road and theres not much you can get in a wheelbarrow and my feet are tired.

    rough cast

its dead easy, its all in the wrist, i find it very messy so cover anything up thats new ie doors, windows, driveways etc. Also watch your eyes as it goes every where and you end up looking like something out of a horror film so every now and then stop a rub your self down with a clean cloth.
