Could the reason for the unevenness seen here be because the workers did not take off all the old render like they were supposed to? At the front of the house you can see some of the old render they didn't take off. Or more likely just bad technique?

Actually they did all the work at the same time. I'd seen previous work and it looked fine. He's been in he trade for 40 years and told me he was booked for two years. So we left them to it. You look at the inside in the daylight and it looks ok if you don't know what you are looking for...
