Get van(Sign written),T shirts with your logo and phone number,good business cards(Dint scrimp on paper quality,park your van in B& Q on a sunday morning,you'd be amazed how much work you will get.Be polite,clean and tidy and do a good job and referalls will come in sooner or layer and repeat...

Hi Guys, After careful consideration I have decided the time has come to hang up the trowel and seek pastures new.I have been plastering for five years now and have have had a hell of a time loving what I do and have a good customer base but since the new year have only worked for for 3 weeks...

As above I use one of these for high ceilings but can't generally fit it easily on stairwell as there is not much room to climb up and down either side,good old ladder and plank is better.

Advised customer that overboarding would be better but they are looking to move at the end of the year and just want it skimmed over,Pva then bonding looks like the best option.

Hi Guys,got a ceiling to do next week that has had ceiling tiles removed and there is still a lot of the adhesive on which is about 2-3 mil deep ,was going to WBA/Thistle Bond it and skim but am thinking that bonding the whole lot with a tight coat and then Pva and skim might be better?. Cheers...

Had a call back from the customer today accepting my price and asking if I can start next Tuesday!,Happy days.

Rang them back and told them thats my price and wont budge on it,said they will think about it,which leaves me to believe they are trying to pull a fast one.

£1500.00 all in.

Have had the same problem in the past, now I either use Thistle Bond It or Bonding,never again will I use PVA over artex purely for the same reasons.
