Hi Guys, got a ceiling to do next week that has had ceiling tiles removed and there is still a lot of the adhesive on which is about 2-3 mil deep ,was going to WBA/Thistle Bond it and skim but am thinking that bonding the whole lot with a tight coat and then Pva and skim might be better?.

Cheers
Paul

can you re-board it for peace of mind or treat it like an artex ceiling and glue it well and give a thick first coat....flatten and let it firm up a bit then a second coat as normal

Advised customer that overboarding would be better but they are looking to move at the end of the year and just want it skimmed over,Pva then bonding looks like the best option.

fordon you have to be carefull if its the old brown glue it can bleed through the finish either bond it over first or get a heat gun an get em off it does come off once heated up

I had a similar thing once, the plaster wouldnt set where the glue spots were, f*ck knows why but it was a total pain in the @rse.

I'd been to a stag do the night before too, was not happy :(
