So hardwalling over plasterboard is a bit naughty -
Ok right, so I need a solution - imagine my situation if you will - Once apon a time there was a door frame, on the right hand side of this door frame there sat some old bare brickwork, on the left hand side and above the door frame there...
Im in a situation where by hardwalling over a bit of plasterboard could save me alot of bollock ache -
but can it be done without suffering any adverse consequences?
Well I did suggest to the customer the possibility of bringing the door frame out a little via the addition of battens but they weren't up for it! Its an old house you see with old looking door frames that they didn't want f**cked with! furry muff I thought

So the soot needs treating church? and I can just wack in a bit of hardwall to fill out the voids? PVA then float the whole thing out?

I need to float and set this wall, kind of hard to make out from the photos below but the brickwork contains massive voids, my question is -
Is it just a case of filling the voids with s&c then foating out using hardwall or is there more to it?
Oh yeah and I cant dot and dab...
If it wasn't for the height and platform issues then I wouldn't batter an eyelid - but being fresh out of goldtrowel HQ, a little wet behind the ears and with limited experience of any wall above 10ft I do find it a little intimidating
At its highest point the walls around 19ft tall although its only 7ft wide, so its not massive but then there is the added pressure of faffing around with platforms and what not - think ill take your advice on board Jonathan and run with it!
and maybe throw in a bit of lime putty for good...
