Only ever used a 6 inch brush and small brush to cut in for pva.
Apart from speed, is a roller just as good, even for heavy artex patterns.

If wall or ceilings not been skimmed .
If we.re not pva wall that day for some reason that's joined on I just do a roller width down corner so I dont have to go near wall or ceiling that's been skimmed

Did u read my second post in this thread,i was asking how many use a roller against a brush,i know loads of guys that use both.
You on booze

There's actually people pvaing big areas with a brush :risas2:
Yes,,,and fact is if you have heavy artex,u aint going to scrape it if you dont know if it has asbestos in it. Long haired brush probably will.
Brush is far slower.
Heavy pile roller ?
Im trying to get opinions

If the artex is heavy enough for you to worry about if a roller will cover it you should be overboarding anyway

You are correct it should be nath, but in the real world if I say overboard they are 5 guys that will plaster it and I simply out of the running for a heavy artexer or any other artex job, thats they way it is were I live and always has been.
Done hundreds of them, majority of people will not go down overboard route

But by the time you Pva, wait for it to go tacky then bond it out you could of over boarded it

Its not about time for a customer, its what it costs.
But your time is what they're paying for? Couple of bags of bonding and some Pva £25, 5 sheets of board and some screws £40. Can't see someone losing a job over £15 materials for a much better job

Most customers will not go down that route,i would charge far more if i sheeted it.

If a ceiling is getting overboarded, average size bedroom ceiling forget time it takes,£100 labour plus mats gets put on price
