You should use advertising to your advantage and target an affluent market....relying on recommendations is poor business and backs you into a corner.

And no such thing as a fair price, your wife wants to hear about a good price not a fair price.
 
End of the day no one should care or moan what anyone charges. There’s thousand of spreads out there. Some like Nath would charge £170 to do a small ceiling one hit and be home at midday thinking nice easy day.

Or there’s the dick swingers saying they charge £300 for 10m2 ceiling etc.

Because of their over heads, I didn’t know gambling debts and Coke debts counted as business overheads. Think I’ll up my prices !!!


Each to there own I say, earn what you want aka charge what you want. End of the day your doing the work and know how much you want for the job.

I've never shouted about it. Just don't see how I'm a bottom feeder for charging that for a boarded ceiling. If someone who actually earns a decent wedge a day says so then fair enough, but not taking it off some plonker who charges £225 and thinks he's hit the big time

Then I have advertising overheads and have to travel to these affluent areas, adding time, and hassle to my day, and then the small extra gain wouldn't be worth my time

One cannot create inhabitable bespoke works of art on a 'rate'. :LOL:

On the odd occasion a customer is foolish/poor enough to ask what my day rate is I don't answer. I just stare at them without speaking until they get really uncomfortable and change the subject.

Day rate is the worst thing you can say Cos the c**ts think you are meant to stay there till a certain time and time your tea breaks etc.

I'm perfectly clear about what my day rate means.
It's £300 for two men 8-430 with tea at temln and lunch at one.
 
I think if you go back to where this started ud see it was that lefty t**t..and its mothballed,like the other time in a different thread..its not my fault I'm relating with a bottom feeder..

No mate, not what i think at all, sure the both of you do fine, done a ceiling for less than 170 and a days work for less than 225 plenty of times, just dont get into shouting rates at each other, its bad manners and gives the plebs who come on here numbers to try and play with

Mate look at the start,hes a runt of the litter..il admit he pushes the old buttons,its prob cos hes a labour supporter tbh..I'd love to have a meet n greet with him
