@HouseLibrarian how long did he take to do job
two and a half days. Though we’ve since been told this should have taken a lot less time. Is that correct?@HouseLibrarian how long did he take to do job
F*****g hell.....what a messWell we called/text/left voicemails and never heard back. One was a friends brother-in-law, one was a friend of the family, others were recommended.
I have a few shots of the corners, where the walls meet ceiling, etc. But will have to take full shots tomorrow if you would like to see them then

no worktops apart from sink (which is being replaced anyway). Everything was taken out of the room apart from the boiler and pipes, which probably do count as awkward bits I guess. But nothing to protect, we even had the floor covered already.Should take anything between 1 and 2 days depending on how much f**k**g about there is, if it's straight forward.. skim only, 4 walls and a ceiling, it's a days work.. I'd want around £450 myself.
If on the other hand there are loads of awqward bits, units, work tops etc/ to protect and work around then it'll take a lot longer..

This is the best I can do at the moment with bad lighting and the fridge back in the middle of the room
Is new kitchen getting tiled between unitsno worktops apart from sink (which is being replaced anyway). Everything was taken out of the room apart from the boiler and pipes, which probably do count as awkward bits I guess. But nothing to protect, we even had the floor covered already.

His name's black now too.I feel like this is some kind of plasterer joke that I’m not privy to? But all I know is his buckets were black.
Well said!f**k off with this bullshit I can’t take anymore.
5 or 6? Was it 5 , or 6? 6 plasterers not wanting to do it means 1 of 2 things. You’re on ‘a budget’ ugh. Or you didn’t really contact that many.
You’ve gone cheap. You’re on a budget. Who else lives without a kitchen for 6 f**k**g months. Minging. You’ve got a cheapy in and now you’re not happy as you’ve got exactly what you’ve paid for. The fact you only wanted £100 back confirms this is a cheap job.
I see that style plastering all the time. That’s dave from the pub. That’s micks mate joe who learned a bit in hmp parc. That’s a kitchen fitter who’s gone quiet. That’s a ‘builder’ . That isn’t a plasterer.
It really isn’t that hard to find a decent plasterer. Yes you’ll have to wait for him so use come common sense and book him in for x weeks away so you can get the kitchen out just before. Or whatever you’re doing.
Pay the price. Stop scrimping through life. Plastering is the one thing you should never be a pikey about. It’s always on show. Everyone sees it.
A decent spread wants, or should want (some lads on here still don’t understand this) decent money. He/she will loosen all sockets off. Skim them all flush. Leave a perfect finish.
The difference between a ‘plasterer’ and plasterer is night and day.
How’s that @Danny
I’m just struggling to believe 6 spreads wasn’t interested.
Could we at least see some pics of the overall work ie; not macro pics on sockets?
To be honest I contacted a load of builders about 18 months ago to do a job for me.... replace 8 rsj and some stairs.... only 1 builder turned up
I always ask if it's getting tiledTbf, if I knew it was getting tiled where I was plastering I’d have left it the same round the plugs, especially with all them fiddly bits.

I found it funny nobody mentioned that some of them areas where impossible to get a good finish behind them. Everyone jumps in on a s**t job thread . That's s**t am great. It's a s**t job question was answered after the first post. Now its 3 pages longwho seriously who gives a fuuck what it cost
who the fuuck would wanna plaster around all that shite
unprofessional from everyone.
good afternoon Stevey
hope your days well sir xx
Busy times . Everyones picking there jobsYes but that’s understandable as proper builders are always flat out. And usually with big jobs.
Self employed plasterers, 6 of em. Just find that hard to believe for a little kitchen skim that could of been banged out in a day
I always ask if it's getting tiled
Same with bathroom. Just robbing imo

I hear it all the time from customers, they thank me just for turning up to price the work sometimes as people are so unreliable.. then getting a price out the ones that do is another story..
I really don't think a lot of trades do themselves any favours.
