Stabilising grit, pva is a hit and miss on sand, lime walls. Not worth the risk.

I had the same a few weeks ago, even after 4/5 thick coats of glue.. Never known anything like it, wasn't that hot either.

I remember skimming over dry old sand and cement for the first time... my god I made a mess of that :)
Now I just lash watered down pva till it wont take any more :)

I recon my magic mix would work great on there
Nip down to tool station John grab a everbuild tub of sbr
Two parts sbr
One part pva
Three part water (4 if you wanted )
Mix them all together as one in bucket
Roll on
Skim ten minutes later

France atm @hstoke mate

Some grits are better than others at killing the suction, micro is good and betakontakt.
Why did you use grit lurpak as you usually just use pva?

I'm still on the artex sealer... Never fails to hold the wet plaster. If you like Pva then pay the money for the good stuff as standard plasterers pva ain't good at holding off the suction sometimes
