Hawk, trowel, polyeurathane float, snips, brush, stanley knife, bucket trowel, pointing trowel, small tool and lath hammer. The only things ever in my tool bag.
K rend or weber mono? was that not the stuff the Romans used in the colleseum? lasted 2500 years (seriously, it's still there!) I aint never heard such rubbish The render inside the pyramids is still there too, over 5000 years! reckon they were onto something.
Not many punters are happy with having workman in when they come home from work but most love to have a nose around on a Saturday, and punters do love watching spreads.
Stick wood up but make sure it's bevelled or it will pull the render off when removed. Scratch coat between battens then rule off and float as usual. Following day, (2 is better) remove battens and fill in with small tool then screw a piece of the batten down the centre of your float and float...
All I would add to tonys advice is when cutting obtruse angles, place the coving on its ceiling edge and think snooker cue. Good luck the joints fill well with cove adhesive.
