If so why wouldn't you do the bathroom the same, or even better spec?

you could consider lime hemp or eco cork floating systems both claim to be insulating.
if a wall is tiled you can use insulated construction/tilable board (qboard etc)

I went with the 2x2 timbers and fifty mm insulation in the bedrooms as it was goo for the electrics and plumbing , still deciding re the bathroom , will look into heat recoveryI'm doing my bathroom out soon and debating between batton out and insulation batts or just fixing insulated p boards straight on and tiling the lot after, heat exchange unit sounds good too its got 3 big external walls so a coldish room.
