@Hicky it wasn't aimed at you buddy. :)
Was purely meant as a sly little dig to the few who think its ok to use pictures of better spreads work, and then try to pass it off as there own.

No worries buddy, completely genuine here, just finished last of these oak beams on this job so did some short 40 second vids of them, just got me thinking ive got hundreds of pics whether i could put them together to make a sort of vid. :RpS_thumbsup:

Very impressive Hicky. Looks really good buddy.
I would almost say it's magic

Stunning craftsmanship there, do you use different shades of varnish to get the black knots and other shades or just one type with more coats in some areas ?

Yes mate different shades and more coats in some areas. I use an ebony which is black and antique pine which is yellow'ish but with the 2 I can make light and dark browns. Its just random just got to try not to over do it.

You used any printing mats or all by hand?

Flynny I bought some liquid pouring rubber and took some molds of some oak beams I took out of a barn conversion, I did this as it was cheaper than hiring them from Pics, once spread I use a rad roller with the foam removed to roll the grain into the plaster, then cut all the splits etc out with small tool. Seal and stain.
