What is sbr and when and where to use it also rend aid

Hi guys have been plastering quite a while now but never really got into render. Done a few bits. I have my own thoughts but whats is Sbr and when and where is it to be used and how is it used. (I think like an external pva) Also the same question for rendaid and when should you use one and not the other etc, any other info would be greatly appreciated especially about painted backgrounds.

briefly though, it's used as an admixture, as a tanking agent for waterproofing and as a bonding agent.

My hands are all stained to feck with it, was slurrying a chimney head this avo and im coated in it.

Wear gloves if slurrying.
