Hi
As above can you use scrim tape for jointing tapered edge boards and then easifill over it??? or do you have to use paper?
Ive just been asked by a bloke in my street to "do some plastering" as he said when i arrived to have a look he just wants the joints filled in , its all been boarded etc and he has used scrim for the joints..

cheers

tell him betime ya done all that tape and jointing b*ll***s ya could have skimed the thing

Hi there, if the partition is expected to offer a fire resistance then paper tape should be used. Scrim is often used to form joints but paper tape gives a better performance although it takes a bit more skill and practice to do successfully.

Scrim tape according to BG should only be used as patching tape and all boards should be taped with paper tape :RpS_lol:

Could still work in our favour we never get paid for scrim so let some other ******* go through and paper tape the joints before we skim it
