Tyrolean mix/prep

were doing an old cottage at the moment and with a scat/Tyrolean finish (not cullamix just knocked up ourselves to match the dopey old existing !

I work with 2 other olasterers and we all have a difference of opinion on the following >

1) how to prep the ruled off coat for Tyrolean. Do you guys devil float it ? Normal poly float ? Or just run a sponge over it after ruling off ?

2) how do you mix up the Tyrolean ? (Like piss obviously, but mix ratios ?!)

We all had a different method. Interested in what people say here ! Let's put the cat amongst the pigeons !!

just a floated up coat mate with lime in for suction then pissy sand an cement if your making your own

for sand and cement tyrolean, fit beads and scratchcoat on day 1,
day 2, render wall, ruled off and with a once over with a poly float . we use the same gauge that we used for the render, knock very wet and a light spray. on the same day that we apply render so that it all goes on in one.
i do not worry about infil spray of the tyrolean when i spray sand and cement as when it is painted it will look good.
