Ouch my back hurts now. Got a bit over enthusiastic today getting stuck in and couldn’t be bothered to make the extra trip from the front to load out the bags at the back so put two on my shoulder. Bit stiff and sore now. 50kg on the spine can’t be healthy. How heavy were the old bags? Before my time thankfully.

Years ago two bags was effortless, guess I’m not used to it anymore. Best avoided in the future I think. Anyone done three bags? @Tinytom has got some guns bet he could lift three. Let’s have a challenge tomorrow and check in tomorrow night all complaining of crippled back injuries.

Worse thing for your back is putting the bag on your shoulders apparently better off bear hugging.

15 bags on shoulder up 2 flights was standard practice! I only do 12 now but still do 200sqm for lunchtime then go gym and squat 500kg for a hour! It’s all in the knees (y)

no need to punish yourself anymore .
I skimmed this on a hit this morning

it was the 2.5 drive there that killed me.

Back when I started cement, Browning, Bonding and finish were all 50kg. It was nothing unusual for guys to carry two bags at a time on their shoulder and I'd occasionally put three bags of dust in the hod to save on journeys.
None of that is big or clever, just how it was.
I once weighed how much muck was going in the hod to be carried up the ladder for rendering, at the request of the lady from h&se. 51kg without being silly full, she nearly had a fit lol.

Take some health from tomorrow and use today lifting weight like that. I've done 3 bags but it's dum. Look after yourself. Nobody else will. That's what I learnt
