Time between build and render

I've got a job to build a garden wall out of concrete blocks which will the be rendered. My question is, can I render it the day after it's built? Or should I wait maybe a week or so?

Thanks Spunkybum, After rendering the wall will get a couple of coats of white paint, so I don't suppose it matters if the joints are showing through.

He doesn't mean the joints showing through I think you'll find he means cracks following the joint lines, and he's probably spot on.

I have had to do it a few times even the same day as the wall has been built.... had no trouble but wouldnt recommend it !!!
