The Old Man got there first

Builder came th the workshop a few weeks ago with a sample of a plain-run cornice to be matched, and a required meterage. No need for preliminary site visit.
Went to site this morning to fix said cornice, and the Old Man had been there before me.
He and brother did this barrel vaulting in 1988 (when I was 10). The stars are each made of 9 pieces, and applied to the plainface in the comfort of the shop. They are arranged in existing constellations.
It was a nice surprise to see it. The Old Man and bro never got to see it painted and with scaffold removed.
