As a keen amateur, I'm always reading about plastering mostly on here.

What's the difference / what are the same things

- lay on
- lay in
- tighten
- flattern
- float up
-Trowel up
-Polish
-Pass?

Thanks again

Lay on .- lay plaster on wall.

Lay in .- guessing 2nd coat

Tighten- no idea

Flatten. - using a spat or speedskim to flatten your coat.

Float up. Pass a float over your work

Trowel up. Trowel it

Polish. Dry trowel

Pass. Each time.you go over your wall

Lay in is sometimes 'lay down'.
'Tighten' is when it firms up a touch. (Gets harder through time)
You can also use a trowel to flatten!
