Hello Guys,

I have built a lot of swimming pools over the years and there always seems to be a debate over the type of render used in a tiled concrete pool, so i thought i would ask the experts.

Normally i just use a strong sand and cement mix. Are there more specialised products that you have used.

Also same issue with the floor screed

Hi Ibrick, We rendered the new swimming at Finlake, chudleigh last year and it was a smooth coat of 3:1 left to cure, coat of vandex, coat of tyrolean (mix 3:1) left 21 days then final coat of 4:1. This was the spec we were provided. There are a couple of lads that do pools more frequently, Im sure they will be along and tell you their process :RpS_thumbsup:

Parex produce a pre bagged mortar called Lankoimper to deal with positive water pressure. This can then be tiled onto.
