OK so me and my mate have got a job to plaster and tack out some flats the guy wants sound proof studwork walls between two units never done this and he's asking me to spec it.... Helppppppp!
 
Use mf ,not timber,sound insulation of the highest spec,then 15mm sound bloc board at the very least,you could double layer,you would need rubber insulation under and above stud,not sure of exact terminology for these, many options will pop up here

have they got a spec they want you to use?? are you building the walls aswell? I would use res bar across the metal studs and double skin of board the res bar stops the sound from travling up the studs !!!
