I read that s**t so why couldnt they make 20 mill profit and still pay decent rates.
what a terrible year poor bovis have had after cutting trade prices by 20 and 30% they only managed to make 31 million profit
most contractors that have plenty of work are taking more profits of late due to alot of the competition going bust in the last 2 years and still getting sub contractors taking tenders at cut throaght prices, the bulk of any profit now is down to the saving they make on sub contracts/tenders - they are squeezing the life out of the firms because they know they can get cheap prices
Huh!! well I won't be buying anymore of their bread from now on!
not sure i totally agree with u there twitch, the cupid stunts in charge at the big firms are constantly making small guys cut each others throats on prices to save money and increase their margins. Dont matter where yr from to them. Its all about the money.
Ain't that the truth, couple of our contractors have pushed us to 4 months, and without a word of " do you mind if......"
Retentions..well thats another one alltogether.....just keep a very good data base on it all. As sure as eggs are aggs...they won't be calling you ,to tell you they owe some retention ,and would you like it .![]()
Flipping heck you lads on 90 day payments you must be under pressure just for fact how much work you can do in 90 days.
Paddy showed you up then AGAIN :RpS_lol:you got it all wrong, it's nothing to do with the bosses of bovis ripping us off, it's all to do with eastern europeans, the irish (of course) and pikeys
If they weren't in this country then bovis wouldn't make ten's of millions of pounds profit, and we'd all get paid decent rates.
You've got to put this in perspective!
