smooth render & pebbledash protection?

Hi,

Looking for some advice on added protection to smooth render (monocouche) and pebbledash.
We had both smooth render and pebbledash on our new build property (~9 years old).
However, we're looking to get the rendering cleaned to remove years of organic staining etc. by a combination of chemical and doff steam cleaning on both render and pebbledash surfaces.

Our contractor has suggested once cleaned, and any minor repairs on smooth rendering. We should consider sealing the surfaces with the following impregnating sealer - Stontex Facade 500 Pro.
Been told its fully breathable, would provide hydrophobic properties to keep water out preventing freeze/thaw damage.
Potentially reduced maintenance...Suitable for stone, brick and renders.

Can anyone advise if the above is a good idea for likes of render and pebbledash?
Or any opposite thoughts?
