Did you add sharp sand to the mix or just ballast? Did you handbash it?

Just ballast, done by hand. Ballast been sat on my drive for 2 years and had weeds growing in it. Probably didn't help my cause. The good news is I had 2 bags of cement also 2 years old that I thankfully threw out as tempting as it was to use them.

Speaking of bodge the wall had 2 block pavers and spray foam used by previous owner to patch the wall for whatever reason. Just so happened to find 7 bricks on my floor dig and was able to brick it up properly.

The concrete came out ok. After I scrapped back the top sandy layer it is looking much better and rock solid.

I've absolutely no idea, apart from it's now trapped all that moisture into the slab. Except we all know (should know) that moisture will always force it's way out.

Will be ok, 2027 is a good year for floor tiling

Got my wall base plates on nice and square. Definitely did keep the moisture in or I tried to drill too early as the first 2 the concrete was too weak so I glued/foamed them (solid). Waited a couple of days and got the final one on today. Concrete solid.

Also stripped some plaster and fit the ceiling insulation.

Gonna wait another week before self levelling

Haha the house is a mess. The guy who sold it was old school. Do it all yourself and use what you have laying around. It's a miss match of bodge jobs.

But I've renovated all rooms over the last 5 years. This tiny toilet is the last room to be done, I'm going to do it all myself apart from electrics.

Finally got around to doing the self leveling. First go doing it, happy with the look. Gave it another coat of SBR, waited 2 hours for it to dry. Used a trowel to spread it and went over it a couple of times with a spiked roller.

The real test will be tomorrow with a level
