skimming ceiling with spot lights

anyone got any advice for re-skiming ceiling with spots.

i have one to do 2moz .but i have no tips or tricks lol .soz

take the spots out and carfuly place the cables in the hole..

is it best to get a electrician remove the spot lights and get him to fit them when its been plastered or pull the spots out slightly? cheers

just pull the spots down unattache them put the wires carefully back in hole so you can get at them again, skim put the back up, job done, it is very easy, no need for an electrician

Watch out for the blob of finish as it falls out the holes.... winds me right up

Also when the gear starts to go off properly go round the holes pushing the blobs up to reveal the original hole. If you let it dry fully it'll crack when you break the hard blobs off.

I always just pull them down ever so slightly but don't unclip them if you do sometimes the extra thickness with your over set makes it hard to clip them back in.
