Hi - I have to fill a redundant doorway with plasterboard. The door frame edge of less than 1 inch is flush to surrounding plasterboard.

Is it possible to skim plaster over a narrow wood border edge?

Rip it out stud it board it & skim it, or if you ave to go over it, Coat of bonding over timber then paper tape then more bonding over tape then skim :RpS_thumbup:

Remove lining as previous, will always crack eventually.studwork then board, skim entire wall either side.do a proper job.dont forget scrim tape.

Or Dot & Dab the whole wall.............. or what Nisus said...........:RpS_thumbup:

Thanks - ripped it all out and put studs and plasterboard in. Which is the better skim plaster? Thistle 1 coat or a base and finishing plaster on top? I read some comments that thistle is gritty and wickes have a better product.??

You can do it with Thistle 1 coat, but you won't like it mate. Bonding and multi or just mult/board if it's a tight coat.
