Guys,

Quick question. Bought some cemoplas deep to do a kitchen floor however on the back of bag states not suitable for 'mastic asphalt'. The existing floor has some of the old vinyl floor tile adhesive, black stuff.
anyone used this stuff in similar situations? Maybe recommend a primer (sbr slurry etc)?

By mastic asphalt they probably mean blackjack (bitumin) people use it to seal bits of old floors where walls have been demolished/ moved, before re-screeding( patch screed ) using traditional s/c screed.

We used to lay amtico tiles and vinil tiles with bitumastic. Same stuff so I'd say no it's not suitable according to the instructions you have.

Too late I know. Mastic asphalt is a 15-50mm layer of a hot poured asphalt mix. Used to be popular in old hospitals and factories, also quite a lot of old prefab council houses. Looks a bit like someone has tarmaced inside a house when you find it!
