Scratch coat

Would it be acceptable for me to put SBR in my scratch coat instead of water-proofer in order to hold the top coat of a little longer ??

personally i think waterproofer does a better job if you want to kill the suction,i think sbr is more of a hardener ???

sbr would prob be a better product for the integrity of the render IMO but flat boy is right proofer will hold it back better its just that proofer can cause other problems IMO

the choice is yours my friend

Scratch with waterproofer,and before you apply the top coat,give the scratch a splash down with water and your stock brush and that will hold it back nicely,it will also remove any dust from the scratch coat thus creating a better bond between the two coats
