Hi All,
Looking for some advice on rendering a large quantity of retaining walls,
Here’s as much information as i can give,
The walls are approx 20 years old and are dry at the moment but as there such large areas forming
Varying terraces at some point damp/water has seeped through mainly damaging the original
Render, As ever some places the render is as good as new,
So i,m in need of applying some kind of base coat or SBR mix to try to stop any damp/water
Penetration through the new render when applied and painted,
The works in question are based on my property in Spain so its not like the uk where the dampness
Of the ground is very small in comparison, I have good knowledge of the rendering industry but
Good advice more than welcome,
Thanks….

Weep holes are key.

Often and deep.

I could recommend products but you won't be able to get them in Spain unfortunately.

I would also have control joints. Also frequent along the walls. Many reasons for these too.

You might be surprised what products or alternatives can get down here in spain, i completed a large insulated render system on my villa circa 400m2 using the Fassa system

We used a parex additive years ago I can’t remember what it’s called drove past the job and it looks terrible everything else looks great the parrapit walls were black
Hope that helps x
