is there a decent way of going over old painted render that is sound but bit rough looking without hacking it all off that is cost effective?

you should eml and hp12 in theory but ive rendaided over my mums flat the paint was sound and mono straight over no probs thus far

yeaa no bout meshing etc was just wondering if there was a product that might hold like rendaid or somthing?

its coz its only certain walls and some of them have external corners that go into walls that are fine so meshing would be awkward.

ive been doing this all week and all weve done is hpx with an incorporated mesh drilled and pluged every 300 then topcoated 2 days later saves hacking off and best of all no eml

do u hpx and mesh, let it go off and then drill and plug through once hard?

do a pull off test. Get hold of some polymer modified thin-coat adhesive and bed the mesh in on an area of about 1m2 with some mesh sticking out around all sides enough to get a good grip of. Once dry try and pull it off. If it holds then you should be fine.....if it pulls the paint off or comes away from it then not.
